San Francisco Giants Coming To Citizens Bank Park
The San Francisco Giants are coming to Citizens Bank Park on July 26, 2011. Phillies baseball tickets can still be purchased for this series. The Giants will be in Philadelphia for a 3 game series. Game time for the opener will be 7:05 PM. Starting pitchers will be Barry Zito (3-2) for the Giants and Vance Worley (6-1) for the Phils.
The Phils win 7-2 over the Giants as Vance Worley earns his 5th straight pitching a complete game. Worley now 7-1, gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. His ERA now stands at 2.02. The Phillies had 7 hits in the game and 4 of those were homers. Raul Ibanez hit a 2 run shot in the 1st, while Chase Utley, John Mayberry Jr. and Ryan Howard added solo home runs in the game. Aaron Rowand hit a pinch hit home run in the 8th for the Giants with nobody on.
Attendance for the game was 45,740, the 190th consecutive sellout at Citizens Bank Park including playoff and World Series games.
The San Francisco Giants are undecided for their pitching choice in Wednesday’s game while the Phils will start Cole Hamels (12-5). The game will start at 7:00 PM.
Phillies lose a close one 2-1 in game 2 of this series with the Giants. Cole Hamels went 7 2/3 innings picking up his 6th loss of the season. The Phils offense could only muster 4 hits for the game. Consecutive sellout number 191 was achieved as a crowd of 45,800 jammed Citizens Bank Park on July 27, 2011.
Giants beat Phillies again 4-1. Tim Lincecum upped his record to (9-8) as he pitched 6 strong innings. Lincecum gave up only 3 hits, walked 4 and struck out 6. The Phils offense was once again pretty quite, as no Phillie had multiple hits. Tonight’s attendance was 45,646 with the sellout streak now at 192 straight games.
